Her hemoglobin A1c was 7.1%, and she was on long-acting insulin along with mealtime coverage. Mammography revealed heterogeneouslydense breast tissue (<a id=\"back-gr1\" class=\"figureLink\" href=\"https:\/\/els-jbs-prod-cdn.literatumonline.com\/cms\/attachment\/fbffea0b-675d-4767-9770-854745a3fc3e\/gr1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-link=\"modal\" data-target=\"#image-S0002934319300038gr1\" data-class=\"largeImg\">Figures 1<\/a>A and 1B). As a protocol for dense breast, ultrasonography of thebilateralbreast was performed, which showed a large(5.3\u202f\u00d7\u202f1.9\u202f\u00d7\u202f2.0 cm) irregular hypoechoic mass with posterior acoustic shadowing and prominent peripheral vascularity in the right breast at the 12:00 position (<a id=\"back-gr1\" class=\"figureLink\" href=\"https:\/\/els-jbs-prod-cdn.literatumonline.com\/cms\/attachment\/fbffea0b-675d-4767-9770-854745a3fc3e\/gr1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-link=\"modal\" data-target=\"#image-S0002934319300038gr1\" data-class=\"largeImg\">Figure1<\/a>C). The BI-RADS category was 5, interpreted as highly suggestive of malignancy. An ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy (<a id=\"back-gr1\" class=\"figureLink\" href=\"https:\/\/els-jbs-prod-cdn.literatumonline.com\/cms\/attachment\/fbffea0b-675d-4767-9770-854745a3fc3e\/gr1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-link=\"modal\" data-target=\"#image-S0002934319300038gr1\" data-class=\"largeImg\">Figure1<\/a>D) was performed, which revealed lymphocytic ductitis and sclerosing lobulitis with non-proliferative fibrocystic changes (<a id=\"back-gr1\" class=\"figureLink\" href=\"https:\/\/els-jbs-prod-cdn.literatumonline.com\/cms\/attachment\/fbffea0b-675d-4767-9770-854745a3fc3e\/gr1.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-link=\"modal\" data-target=\"#image-S0002934319300038gr1\" data-class=\"largeImg\">Figures 1<\/a>E-1G). A diagnosis of diabetic mastopathywas made after detailed discussion with the pathologist and radiologist.
