Heart failure is usually broken down into two categories: heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Hospitalizations for both are comparable, but HFpEF hospitalizations are expected to increase in the future. Consequently, there is a need for better treatments for HFpEF patients. In this video, AJM Editor-in-chief Dr. Joseph S. Alpert and Social Media/Technology Editor Pamela Powers Hannley, MPH, discuss new research into HFpEF.
