Flu Vaccination to Prevent Cardiovascular Mortality (video)

“Influenza can cause a significant burden on patients with coronary artery disease,” write Barbetta et al in The American Journal of Medicine. For this reason, they looked at the utility of the flu vaccine and found it to be “… a cheap and effective intervention to reduce the risk for all-cause mortality, cardiovascular mortality …” and more. In this video, Joseph S. Alpert, MD explains the research behind “Influenza Vaccination as a Prevention Therapy for Stable Coronary Artery Disease and Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Meta-Analysis of Randomized Trials” by Barbetta et al.
