Do Income Level and Race Influence Survival in Patients Receiving Hemodialysis?
Hemodialysis patients residing in lower- vs. higher income areas have lower mortality rates, are younger, and more frequently African-American. After adjustment for demographic, clinical, provider, and socioeconomic status characteristics, mortality is similar across income areas.
